Day 37

World Travels Day 3 - SF International Airport

Waiting at the airport. Starting tonight, I will be in the air for almost a day. The 5 and 1/2 hour flight from the east coast was long enough. Let's see if I can survive this one. Knowing that my friends are eagerly waiting to hear about this trip and maybe even read this blog is at least a motivator. One thing to look forward to? It's 77 degrees (F) over there. What not to look forward to? Massive humidity and week forecast of thunderstorms during monsoon season. Either way, can't wait to see the world and learn everything I can!

Day 36

World Travels Day 2 - San Francisco Hike

What a day. I got to have lunch with Dan and see his office afterwards. The start-up feel to everywhere I visit in SF is pretty fascinating. The highlight of the day, though, was catching up with my former dev director, who now is doing some amazing things here and is just a pretty amazing guy in general. It seems like every time I talk to him, I learn something new, so from getting to chat with him and pick his brain for a chunk of the day was an enlightenment. I've been really fortunate in my career so far to have had these kinds of mentors and hope to make them proud someday (soon).

Day 35

World Travel Day 1 - San Francisco

San Francisco: the first stop to my travels. Jay and I planned to meet up here and get some last-minute travel details organized before heading out to see the rest of the world so here we are. We were lucky enough to have our friends Dan and Sam host us before we flew overseas and it's wonderful to see them again. (Also, their dog is getting bigger!) Can't wait to catch up with some of my friends here before I leave, although there's less time here than I wish I had.
