Woke up today wondering, "why am I still in the same place?". It looks like the traveler in me is trying to get out. There's a lot of things I've missed about being settled down but the routines I've gotten used to while traveling are still here... It also doesn't help that I'm surrounded by super-conservative, Fox News-watching, Tea-Partying folks in the east coast. When did I turn so much into a west coaster? Really starting to question how I'm going to be here for another 3 months...

It's been almost half a year since I had my hands on some keys and it felt energizing to be playing again. There's really something about the way music changes the way you feel and it looks like I've found my preferred stress-reliever for the time being.

Relaxation Friday! It's really nice to chill for a bit after a busy week. I was told several times before that one of the things I need to learn is how to relax... I'd say I'm getting better at it but when it's so easy for me to get restless, it's hard to relax unless I've totally tired myself out and need to just lie in bed all day. Guess I've still got some ways to go.

Side note: customer service is frustrating.

It's hay fever season and pollen count is high, which means the number of people sneezing with itchy eyes have increased. So for those of you taking allergy medicine to help with symptoms, those antihistamines will suppress those nasal woes, but did you know that there are many different types of antihistamines?

Here's a few from brand names that you might be familiar with:

diphenhydramine (Benadryl)

fexofenadine (Allegra)

loratadine (Claritin, Alavert)

chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton)

brompheniramine (Dimetane)

certirizine (Zyrtec)

clemastine (Tavist)

Typically, these drugs are known to be drowsy but the reason more recent antihistamines are non-drowsy is because they are more selective (hence physically larger) in how they prevent those particles from affecting your body and do not cross the blood-brain barrier to your nervous system. And as you take more antihistamines, your body starts to develop an immunity towards it and your body will naturally respond to some antihistamines better than others, which is why certain brands seem to be more effective than others for people.

May the pollen never be in your favor.
